In order to fulfill NTSEC’s core values in popularizing science education, NTSEC has specially developed the Thomas Edison’s Adventure and expect to invite over 4,000 schoolchildren from remote areas or financially-disadvantaged families annually. With this charitable event, we hope to throw out a minnow to catch a whale and to call on the society’s attention regarding science educational opportunities for these schoolchildren. We need to devote more efforts to grow and develop with these children.
The event includes the guided introduction of themed science exhibition, DIY experiment, observation of nocturnal ecology, and exploration of Yangmingshan’s volcanic terrain. Additionally, NTSEC joins forces with other organizations, such as the Wild Bird Society, the Society of Wilderness and high-tech companies to design courses to cultivate proper attitudes toward science in children and stimulate their interests in exploring science.
